Emergency Medicine Applications and Practices (EMAPS)
Initially launched by one of the founders in 2021, EMAPS is now part of HPNE and will soon be re-launched in its new format. EMAPS aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application by providing emergency medicine related practical insights and exchanging impactful real-world emergency department experiences.
EMAPS is an ongoing, integrative educational project dedicated to advancing emergency medicine knowledge across three key audiences: emergency physicians, emergency nurses, and the general public.
EMAPS for Doctors
Designed to promote knowledge exchange and practical skill-building among ER physicians, this stream offers insights and tips in areas such as:
- Clinical approaches to patient care
- Professional character development
- Effective communication in high-stakes environments
- Procedural competencies
- Medical ethics
- Diagnostic and investigative interpretation
- Research methodology and engagement
- Case-based learning from unique or complex presentations
- Personal and professional reflections from the front lines
EMAPS for Nurses
Aims to strengthen collaboration between doctors and nurses by sharing practical care tips and fostering a team-based approach to emergency department operations, ultimately enhancing patient outcomes.
EMAPS for the Public
Seeks to raise public awareness of emergency medicine through accessible education. It provides guidance on managing urgent situations at home and understanding when it is appropriate to seek care in the emergency department.
